Two police cars in chase crash, suspect escapes

Two police patrol cars crashed during a pursuit of a suspect in Bidor Wednesday morning, who managed to escape in the process. The suspect had sped through a roadblock at the 68.5 kilometre of Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur around 1am, and a patrol car from the Bidor police station gave chase. However, another patrol car from IPD Tapah which happened to be in Bidor, was also in pursuit of the suspect. "When the suspect's car was identified, we immediately started chasing without knowing that another patrol car from Bidor station was also on the heels," said lance corporal Mohd Aizat Zakariya from IPD Tapah. "As we got nearer to the suspect, a patrol car tried to overtake us but hit the back of our car before we went crashing into a pole by the side of the road," he said. Mohd Aizat lost consciousness due to the impact while his teammate suffered some chest injuries. The suspect managed to escape.
