A six-year-old boy in Marang, Kuala Terengganu, suffered burns on his right thigh after friends put a firecracker inside his pants before it exploded. Mohd Haziq Arfan, a pre-school student at SK Bukit Gasing, was playing near his house with the group of 12-year-olds when the incident happened. His mother, Kasmani Salleh, was preparing food to break fast in the kitchen when she heard the boy crying. "I became suspicious when he rushed into the toilet with smoke coming out of his pants, and I went after him to find out what had happened," she said. She was shocked to see the victim's pants half-scorched and his right thigh burnt. The victim was brought to Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah for treatment. No police report was lodged.

A furious 31-year-old man was arrested after he tried to stop a fogging operation at his flat in Air Itam, George Town. The suspect had threatened the health officers with a parang. A video showing the man wearing a sleeveless black t-shirt and pointing the weapon at the officers went viral in social media. He was heard saying in the video: "If something happens to my child, will you be responsible?". George Town OCPD Asst Comm Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the officers tried to explain the situation to the man but he continued to disrupt the operation and threatened to hurt them.

An American woman suffered leg fractures after a 158-kilogram (350 pounds) dolphin accidentally “landed” on her. The woman, known as Frickman, was on a boat trip with her husband and two children late last month in Southern California when one of the dolphins leapt onto their boat, crashing into her and broke her legs. She is still recovering from her injuries.
