> Penang removes ‘Pakatan’ from SMS ‘blast’
The Penang government is no longer using Kerajaan Negeri Pakatan Rakyat Pulau Pinang (Penang Pakatan Rakyat Government) in its SMS “blast” meant to inform the public on the state government’s events and affairs. The word “Pakatan” was removed from one of its SMSes sent out at 11.30pm on Wednesday.  Two hours earlier on the same day, SMSes with similar content were still sent out with the word “Pakatan” intact. The SMS was a reminder to Muslims to observe Ramadan. The SMS “blasting” service was a collaboration between state government and mobile operator XOX Berhad (XOX).
