The use of "magic tissue", a product claimed to boost men's sexual performance, is not safe because it could reduce overall sperm count and infertility, the Healthy Ministry confirmed. Its deputy director (pharmaceutical services division) Mazlan Ismail said the so-called magic tissue contain chemicals such as benzocaine and lidocaine that were commonly used as an anaesthetic in surgery. These chemicals can have harmful effects, especially when applied to the men's intimate area. He said based on previous medical findings, the chemicals in the magic tissue could destroy nerve and mucous tissues, and kill sperm.

A 43-year-old man, nicknames the "Pekan Spiderman" after his part-time job as a coconut tree climber, fainted at the top of a tree from fatigue.
