A fireman was bitten by a venomous cobra in Segamat, Johor, yesterday and had to undergo surgery to relieve the pressure on his arm. The victim, whose condition has stabilised after the surgery, was also given anti-venom treatment after his condition worsened. Abu Zariff Jussein, 30, was placing the poisonous snake into a gunny sack when the reptile bit his wrist. The snake was six metres long and weighed 30kg.

A 25-year-old architect in Kuala Lumpur spent RM50,000 on liposuction three times to remove 30kg of fat from his body. Zarif shared that he used to binge eat at the age of 19 due to a failed relationship and his body weight doubled to 130kg. He admitted suffering from low self-esteem and had tried to control his diet and exercise before going for the liposuction. He said he had 10kg belly fat removed in the first surgery, followed by another 10kg of fat from his thighs and chest. "However, I still wasn't satisfied with my weight and had a final liposuction session on my arms," he said. Zarif, whose weight dropped to 70kg, said he now ate healthily to maintain his physique and and also had regular body check-ups to monitor his health.
