A half-naked drug addict, armed with a machete and a piece of wood, and caught trespassing at SK Tawang in Bachok said he wasn't looking for money but sex. The suspect entered the school compound around 2.30pm Tuesday through the back entrance before his suspicious movements caught the attention of canteen staff. An unnamed witness said he felt something amiss as the suspect was not wearing a shirt but carrying sharp objects in a school. A group of male teachers and security guards went after the suspect and caught him in 15 minutes. "He said he did not want money, but wanted to have sex by performing a few lewd acts," the witness said. The man has been handed over to the Bachok district police station.
> Thousands of dead fish in Sungai Melaka
Thousands of dead fish were found lining a 3km stretch along the Sungai Melaka riverbank Tuesday. Kampung Sungai Enam residents caught the bad odour emanating from the area and went to trace the source, leading to the gruesome discovery. Harun Ali, special assistant to the state Development Committee and Coordination of the Legislative Assembly, said it was the first time a large number of dead fishes had been found in the river, and described the incident as weird. "The locals are suspecting water pollution in the river had poisoned the fish to death," he said. A water sample from the river has been sent to the lab for analysis to find out the exact cause of death.
