The fun was cut short for a group of Myanmar nationals after a Songkran celebration at Teluk Kemang beach was raided by the Negeri Sembilan Immigration Department. It is understood that the organisers had obtained approval and a permit from the police for the event. Nine foreign nationals, between the ages of 22 and 55, were detained by the state immigration department.

A widow, and mother of three children was allegedly beaten to death by her police corporal lover at Hutan Bandar recreation park in Mersing, Monday morning. It understood that the victim had gone to look for the suspect at his home to talk about their relationship when an argument ensued. The pair decided to continue their discussion at the recreation park, but the argument soon became intense and violent. The suspect is believed to have hit the victim and sent her to the hospital after she lost consciousness. She was pronounced dead at the Mersing Hospital. The suspect is currently being remanded while the case is investigated.
