A 66-year-old monk from Taiwan has decided to embrace Islam after studying all kinds of religions over the past 30 years. The man, who had lived for 28 years as a monk in Taiwan, recently converted to Islam in a ceremony at a mosque in Malacca. Lim Jooi Soon, who is Malaysian Chinese-Muslim Association (Macma) president, said he managed to convince the man to embrace Islam using logic, science and reasoning.

Prices of funerary services for locals in China are controlled however foreigners will be required to pay almost 26 times higher for similar services. For example, the price for embalming of remains of Chinese nationals fixed is at 300yuan (RM177). Foreigners, though, need to pay an average of 8000yuan (RM4726) for the same service.
