City Hall ready to cancel Puncak Setiawangsa lookout point project

Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib said City Hall (DBKL) is prepared to cancel plans to build a new lookout point in Puncak Setiawangsa after gauging the views of local residents. Nonetheless, he clarified that the hill's landscaping and beautification efforts must be carried out as part of ongoing slope rectification work.

"It is a public space, so the lookout point project is part of the crucial concept about giving back to the community. But we will make sure that what the majority wants is delivered," he was quoted as saying. It was announced on Feb 12 that a new lookout point costing RM3mil would be built at the site of the Puncak Setiawangsa landslide which occurred in 2012.
