A couple were slammed by netizens for being rude to a traffic policeman who was just carrying out his duties in Kepong recently. A video uploaded by the couple on social media showed the female driver refusing to listen to the policeman who, she claimed, had ordered her to go to the station after he found her driving licence was expired. However, she refused to do so and kept asking him to issue a summons instead. She said the policeman was arrogant and "felt RM20 was too little for him." Her friend also threatened to call Bukit Aman to complain about the policeman. Netizens supported the policeman, saying he was merely doing his duty.
> UEC graduates encouraged to apply at teacher training institutes
Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) graduates from Chinese independent schools are encouraged to apply for places in teacher training institutes. The United Chinese School Teachers’ Association (Jiao Zong) chairman Ong Chiow Chuen said graduates interested to be primary school teachers should not miss the chances. Ong also urged the Education Ministry to be transparent when processing the applications. It was recently reported that only two UEC graduates had applied for places in teacher training institutes last year. Federal Territory MCA Education Consultative Committee chairman Eddie Heng Hong Chai said he was worried a lack of applicants may lead to cancellation of the policy of accepting UEC graduates.
