> College student gains fame for looking like K-pop star YoonA
Rabi'atul Afifah Baharom may not be a celebrity, but the 20-year-old is famous among Malaysian K-pop fans for bearing a striking resemblance to YoonA from Girls Generation. Lookalike photos comparing the college student to the K-pop singer have appeared on international websites such as Allkpop, Soompi and Dramafever, and she has even received requests for photo shoots. However, her popularity has also brought with it online criticism and some encounters with aggressive K-pop fans. Rabi'atul says she is not a fan of K-pop and that her parents are worried about her safety following her unexpected popularity. “There was a male fan who collected over 600 photos of me and wanted to meet me, while another Indonesian fan wanted to fly over to Malaysia to see me. But I have rejected all the requests politely,” she shared.
