> Report: Petaling Street hawkers renting out stalls to foreigners
Local hawkers in Petaling Street have been found to be renting out their stalls to foreigners. It is learned that the hawkers, who need to pay RM168 for their licences, make as much as RM60,000 from rental of the stalls. A foreign hawker who sells second-hand items said he rents his stall from a local for RM5,000 a month.

An eight-year-old boy was allegedly hit by a security guard in a hypermarket in Kuantan after the boy was accused of stealing. The boy was stopped when he was found to be holding a packet of food as he was returning a trolley to the hypermarket. The boy claims he was slapped by the guard even though he explained that his mother had paid for the item. The management of the hypermarket has denied that the security guard assaulted the boy. Both parties have lodged police reports over the incident.
