> Police, army uniforms sold openly in Sungai Besi
Anyone interested in obtaining police, army or local authority uniforms can do so for as little as RM120 a set from one of the many illegal tailor shops in Sungai Besi. According to reports, prices range between RM120 and RM160. “I sew badges on for RM5, (I have) all kinds of badges. If you buy 15 uniforms, I will sew on the badges for free,” said a Bangladeshi tailor at one of the illegal shops. It is learnt that no identification is needed to purchase the uniforms and orders can be fulfilled in as little as 10 days. Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Tajudin Md Isa has said police will take action against unauthorised use of police uniforms, which is an offence under the Police Act.
