> Boy burnt while watching rubbish fire
Eleven-year-old boy Mohamad Fakhrul Nizam Zamzuri was watching his mother burning post-flood rubbish in the front of their house in Kuala Krai when the flames suddenly grew too large and burned him. Mohamad Fakhrul is reported to have suffered burns on his face, body and left arm. According to his mother, the boy was standing beside the fire when the accident occurred. “My son’s body turned black. I was shocked and couldn’t do anything as it happened too fast,” she said. According to Noraini Hamid, 35, Mohamad Fakhrul only received treatment at Hospital Kuala Krai a day later because Noraini had no way of taking her son to hospital as both her motorbike and car had been damaged by the floods.
