Singaporean singer JJLin assaulted during session with fans


Singaporean singer-songwriter Lin Jun Jie, popularly known as JJ Lin, was attacked by a man at a meet-the-fan session in Taipei on Thursday. Lin, who is based in Taiwan, was hit by the attacker when he was signing albums for his fans. A staff member of the organiser sent Lin to a nearby hospital for a check-up and the attacker was arrested. Lin returned to the scene and continued the session after the check-up. Police are investigating the incident.

Jian Xiang, 32, lost his battle with cancer on Dec 22 and his body was donated to University Malaya Medical Centre’s (UMMC) Silent Mentor programme. Jian Xiang, who has a two-year-old son, learnt about the programme while receiving treatment at UMMC. “Even though I previously had no idea what the programme was, I respect and support Jian Xiang’s decision,” said his father.
