Two “orang minyak” (oily men) were caught red-handed stealing scrap items from a store along Jalan Segamat-Kuantan. Police are reported to have found both suspects naked with their bodies greased in oil, loading the stolen items into four gunnysacks. The store manager, known only as Tey, had phoned the police after two security guards reported to him that trespassers had entered the premises.

PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali said the party is uncertain over the Pakatan Rakyat alliance and only time will tell if the parties stay together or go their sperate ways. Mustafa also stressed that the party would not budge on its stand to see through the implementation of PAS’ hudud, which has always been at the centre of the party’s struggle. “We don’t know what the future holds, but in the meantime we (Pakatan) are still together. (On) the issue of leaving or staying, we will see,” the PAS leader said.
