> ‘Future Richest Man’ t-shirts on sale in following arrest
T-shirts with caricatures of the self-proclaimed “Future Richest Man in the World” in handcuffs have gone on sale in Malaysia following Chinese national Zhang Jian’s arrest in Phuket, Thailand earlier this week. The white t-shirt emblazoned with the words “Mai Kong Bo Jio” (meaning in Hokkien, “Do not accuse me for not inviting you in”) were designed by a local designer known only as Huang and discovered on sale in a market here. The designer says he got the idea for the t-shirts after the newspapers highlighted the arrest of the controversial founder multi-level marketing company YSLM. Newspapers reported that Zhang, his 29-year-old wife, Yoyo Wang Wenfang, and his aide were arrested this week by Thai police over a pyramid scheme that reportedly duped people in China and Malaysia.
> Mocking a person’s body size can amount to bullying
Making fun of a person over their body size and skin colour can be categorised as instances of bullying, Datuk Mary Yap said. The Deputy Education Minister expressed concern that discipline issues involving bullying in schools had reached a worrying level. If left unaddressed, Yap pointed out the danger of victims turning into bullies themselves and venting their anger on other students. “We do not want to raise a generation of bullies as their personalities will influence the coming generations,” she said.
