Some 18,000 school buses nationwide under the Federation of Malaysian School Bus Operators Associations (SBOA) will be increasing its fares by 30% starting next year.  Its president Mohd Rofik Mohd Yusof said the price hike has to be done in the next school term after getting delayed this year. It was supposed to increase after Chinese New Year in February this year, however, the move was axed by the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD). "SBOA will be informing parents about the new rate and hopefully, there wouldn't be anymore issues," Mohd Rofik said.

Local celebrity Elfira Loy has denied that she is in a relationship with Indonesian actor, Baim Wong. Indonesian tabloid Nova quoted Wong as saying that he is currently dating a Malaysian, named Elfira Loy. The 20-year-old actress said the words had only come from Wong's mouth, but she admitted being comfortable befriending him. Elfira had recently flown to Jakarta to attend a wedding on Wong's invitation. "But I did not go alone. My mum and sister, Ezlisa Loy, went together. Baim is only a friend," she said to Utusan Malaysia, adding that she had already told the 33-year-old actor she is not interested to be in a relationship.
