> Authorities discover leopard carcass in van
Officers from the Kelantan Anti-Smuggling Unit (UPP) discovered the carcass of a black leopard in a van while they were patrolling in a village area in Pasir Mas. The animal appeared to have been shot. It was reported that the internal organs were removed to prevent the carcass from rotting. Authorities believe that the leopard was being smuggled to Thailand to be used for medicinal purposes or as exotic cuisine. The driver of the van is reported to have escaped. The case is being investigated under Section 68(2)(c) of the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010.
