A 42-year-old unemployed man allegedly raped his 69-year-old mother-in-law in their house in Sibu, Sarawak. The suspect attacked the victim when she was resting alone in the living room around 7am Sunday, and gagged her with a piece of cloth. The victim's daughter, who works in Hospital Sibu, lodged a police report after her mother told her what had happened. The man was caught and remanded on the same day.

A man in his 30s poured a bowl of gravy on his wife and hit her leg with a stick because she interrupted his phone conversation with his second wife. The victim suffered a burning sensation in her eyes after the incident. According to the report, the 25-year-old victim, unhappy that the second wife had phoned him, nagged at her husband while he was on the phone. After the incident, the man threatened to stop her allowance if she made a police report. However, fearful of being abuse again, she decided to lodge a report.
