Beggars rake in RM300 per hour during Ramadan

> Beggars rake in RM300 per hour during Ramadan

Generous Malaccans have enabled beggars, especially foreigners, to collect up to RM300 per hour this Ramadan. Many beggars head to Ramadan bazaars in groups, together with young children, to profit from charitable locals. Social Welfare Department director Zulyadain Limat said a number of detained beggars, aged between 34 ando 45, had entered the state on the premise of seeking jobs as they are still fit and able to earn an honest living. However, begging became their ‘career’ of choice due to its lucrative returns. The detained foreign nationals have been handed over to the Immigration Department for further action.

An unpleasant smell detected by an angler from beneath a bridge in Kampung Luar, Mukim Siong, led to the discovery of a decomposed male body on Thursday. Baling OCPD Deputy Supt K.
