> Religious officer duped in Internet scam
An officer from a religious department who is in her 50s, was duped by a guy she met on Facebook claiming to be from Europe. The man known to her as "Mr Mike" claimed he had sent her gifts but she could receive it only if she shelled out RM500,000. Her god sister, who gave her the money, later released something was amiss and lodged a police report. Police have since arrested four suspects, all Africans, in Kepong for investigations.

The wife of Malaysian actor Adi Putra has denied that their marriage is on the rocks. Noraidah Yusof, better known as Aida, denied rumours that they were living separately. She said irresponsible people were trying to wreck their marriage by coming up with nonsensical speculation.
> Boy severely injured in firecracker explosion
A Form Three boy in Kampung Kuala Bekah, Kuala Terengganu, was severely injured in a firecracker explosion. The incident happened around 6pm Saturday when Mohd Sharil Ismail and his friends were playing with firecrackers. His face was burnt and his eyesight is now impaired. He is currently receiving treatment at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital.
> Penny Tai to hold wedding banquet in Segamat
Malaysian singer-songwriter Penny Tai is holding one of her wedding banquets here in Malaysia to enable her 75-year-old father to be attend the important day. The Johorean lass said she would invite her friends and relatives to the banquet to be held in her hometown, Segamat. Tai, 36, had announced earlier that she would tie the knot with her 40-year-old Taiwanese boyfriend this year.
> Pakatan leaders wary Khalid may call for polls
Although Pakatan Rakyat leaders want to remove Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim as Selangor Mentri Besar, they are trying not to upset him. Sources said the leaders were worried Khalid would seek an audience with the Sultan to dissolve the state assembly and hold elections. Pakatan leaders, the sources added, were not confident of retaining the state due to several issues, including the water deal, Kidex highway and seized bibles.
