Asian superstar Wang Lee Hom became the proud father of a baby girl on Wednesday. His wife Lee Jinglei delivered the baby a month earlier than her due date, in the United States.

Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim has insisted he will not resign from his post even though he has been told to do so by his party. The wife of controversial Chinese national Zhang Jian, Yo Yo, has claimed that the self-proclaimed millionaire was a recipient of 12th World Outstanding Chinese Award. Yo Yo, who is also a Chinese national, posted several photos of Zhang in "graduation" gown and congratulated him on her Facebook on Thursday. However, the daily reported that there was no recipient with the name of Zhang Jian on the list of the 12th and 13th awards.

No compounds have been issued to traders at Ramadan bazaars over prices in the past two weeks, the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister said. Datuk Seri Hasan Malek said traders appeared to be more aware of the need to abide by rules and not increase prices unnecessarily. RM0.70 service charge to pay water bill at post offices.

A service charge of 70 sen is being levied on consumers from July 1 when they pay their water bills at the post office, Pengurusan Air Pahang Berhad (PAIP) announced. Its communications officer Datuk Jaafar Abdullah said the charge was not imposed by PAIP but by Pos Malaysia Berhad. Those wishing to avoid the extra charge should pay their bills at any PAIP office.

> Woman dies in accident on way to interview
A 23-year-old woman was killed in an accident while on the way to a hotel in Alor Setar for an interview Thursday. Azah Syazwani was heading to meet her friend before attending the interview together, when her motorcycle collided with a trailer before getting stuck under its wheels.
