A man from Balakong claims to have tolerated physical abuse from his wife for six months before mustering the courage to report the matter to the police. According to the man, who only wished to be known as Borhan, the abuse started after he lost his job as an architect and was unable to support the family. He claims that he and his wife fought often and that he once suffered a bloody nose from being punched in the face by her. The man claims to have separated from his wife two months ago.

A woman who was forced into prostitution was rescued by a passer-by who found her crying at the gate of a double storey shophouse on Tuesday. Investigations reveal that the woman from Perak was abducted by two men on Monday and forced to have sex with three others. It was also found that the woman had not been given any food for more than 24 hours and that she actually knew the men who had abducted her as she had previously been forced into prostitution.

Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Ka-fai has urged his Malaysian fans not to fall for the multi-level marketing schemes run by self-proclaimed Chinese millionaire Zhang Jian. Leung also noted that the businessman’s company, Yun Shu Mao, had been banned in China. “Malaysian friends, remember, be wise,” Leung posted on his Facebook page on Monday.

Malaysian supermodel Amber Chia has terminated her contract with Yun Shu Mao, the multi-level marketing company of purported Chinese millionaire Zhang Jian. Chia said she had terminated her contract with the company on Monday afternoon after taking into consideration the recent controversy. She added that she had felt uncomfortable at the company's event as she was often asked to take photos with stacks of money. Chia went on to stress that she did not participate in the company’s marketing schemes.
