The Government has been urged to come out with a law to monitor sekolah pondok (religious schools) as a step to address the spread of extremism and militant recruitment, Berita Harian reported.
1Malaysia Pondok Development Foundation chief executive Datuk Dr Mashitah Ibrahim said these schools could be more susceptible to extremist messages especially those guided by non-ulamas and those having lack of religious knowledge.
