Over 100% rise in foreign student intake

THE number of international students in Malaysia has risen by more than 100% over eight years ago, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.

He said in 2007, there were 45,000 international students in tertiary institutions in Malaysia and the number had reached 106,000 so far. The figure is expected to increase to 110,000 by the year-end.
