Baring soles for shoes

Shoeless and fancy-free: The event was to highlight the millions of children who are without shoes. This puts them at risk to infection and disease.

Part of an awareness campaign, the varsity was not alone in celebrating the event.Toms, the company that has distributed 35 million pairs of shoes through its One for One business model, celebrated its eighth annual One Day Without Shoes event worldwide.

The event was to raise awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child’s life. For every pair of shoes sold, the company gives a pair of new shoes to a child in need.
