THE Education Ministry is in the midst of getting feedback on how the nation can best uphold Bahasa Malaysia and become an international leading authority on the language.

In a country where the language is widely spoken, Malaysia should be a leading authority on the Malay language, and not foreign universities like Leiden University in the Netherlands or Oxford University in the United Kingdom, said Education Ministry secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Madinah Mohamad.
