Although keen to attend university, few black young men want to enter the teaching profession. The Black Men Teaching Initiative hopes to change that.

A DOCTORAL candidate at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in Pittsburgh, United States, recently asked high school students in Pittsburgh if they planned to go to college. All hands shot up, but when he asked how many planned to go into education, there was no show of hands.
