Too many doctors, so intake for medical courses reduced

THE number of places available for medical courses in local universities is far below the demand from students.

Deputy Education Minister P Kamalanathan said 1,163 with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.0 had applied for courses in medicine this year.
