MANY pre-university options are available for school leavers but deciding which is the most suitable can be confusing.
A talk on Options After SPM - Choosing the Right Pre-University Programmes & Subject Options will be held on the first day of the Star Education Fair 2014 from 11.30am to 1pm next weekend. Come listen to the experts or ask any question at the talk.
Sunway College Pre-University Studies director and Sunway International School executive director Cheng Mien Wee said she will speak on the various internationally recognised pre-university programmes.
“Many Forms Four and Five students are undecided on which pre-university programmes to choose as there are many options available,” she said.
KDU University College head of the School of Pre-University Studies Sathyavathy Rasanayagam will present a talk on programmes in preparation for entering universities in the United Kingdom (UK) and Australia.
“There are many things to consider when it comes to doing A-Levels before going to the UK, such as subject options and how to enrol in top universities.
“I will also be speak on what Australian universities look for in students, in terms of academics and extra curricular activities,” she said.
For students interested in pursuing a foundation programme, they should attend the talk by Heriot-Watt University Malaysia Assistant Professor for Foundation Programmes, Mohanaraj Balakrishnan.
Students thinking about venturing into areas related to media will not want to miss the R.AGE Talks Media which will be held from 3pm to 4.30pm on the first day of the fair.
Get up close with an all-star cast of media personalities including YouTube sensation Reuben Kang, Red FM deejay Jeremy Teo and The Star photojournalist Kevin Tan. R.AGE editor Ian Yee will moderate a mass career counselling session.

Visitors attending the Education and Career Talks at the two-day fair will stand a chance to win e-tickets (valid for two) from Golden Screen Cinemas through fun quizzes.
The Star Education Fair is a platform for students to explore education options all under one roof and meet representatives from institutions who will brief them on a wide range of courses and professional qualifications.
For the first time, there is a section on vocational institutions due to the increasing interest and demand for vocational education options.
