SOCIAL and cultural matters adviser to the federal government Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim said students in institutions of higher education should have high moral character.
He said most university and college students today lacked basic virtues such as being well-mannered, concerned and helpful. “There is no syllabus on basic virtues in the university. Instead, they are just taught a subject or other knowledge,” he said after officiating at the Kembara Akar Budi programme of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
