THE goods and services tax (GST) sparked a heated debate between Barisan Nasional assemblymen and state executive councillor Datuk Teng Chang Kim (DAP-Sungai Pinang).
The argument began after Sulaiman Abdul Razak (BN-Permatang) asked the state government to consider reducing the assessment rates and licence fees to help reduce the rakyat’s burden as the GST would be imposed next year.
