Crackdown welcomed as illegal logging thrives on native land


MIRI: The Sarawak enforcement authorities, in particular those managing the forests and timber resources, must explain to the people of Sarawak why crooked timber-loggers have managed to extract logs worth over RM100mil every year illegally – and gotten away with it year after year.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem may have three weeks ago directed a crackdown on illegal logging and had ordered the anti-corruption and police personnels to nail these illegal loggers.
