MIRI: The coal-mine tragedy that killed three people and injured 29 others in Sri Aman is a warning sign that Sarawak must not over-indulge in economic activities in ecologically-sensitive regions.

State DAP deputy chairman Chiew Ching Sing, who is State Assemblyman for Kidurong, said that it is a well-known fact that underground mining or mining on hillslopes and mountainous terrains, are very dangerous.
