Firm’s four-tower design pips the competition

Hijjas Kasturis winning proposal - the futuristic four-tower-building prop the current 12-storey Menara DBKL 2 to stand tall next to Menara DBKL 1, which has been declared a heritage building.

HIJJAS Kasturi’s interconnected four-tower creation came out tops in the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) competition held to find a design for the proposed rebuilding of Menara DBKL 2 in Jalan Raja Laut.

Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib announced Hijjas Kasturi Associates as the winning firm to design the new building, which would centralise all departments at DBKL’s headquarters.
