Cracks on Sg Kinta bridge

IT is no longer safe for heavy vehicles to drive on the 89-year-old Sungai Kinta Bridge in Batu Gajah as cracks have been found on the concrete slabs, state Public Works Department (JKR) director Datuk Dr Safry Kamal Ahmad said.

He said the cracks, which were between 0.2 and 0.3cm long, were found on the slabs and piers of the 75m-long bridge, which were also caused by soil settlement.
