Taib: Islamic scholars should share knowledge in various fields

Officially launched: Taib at the opening of the state level fatwa seminar.

SIBU: Head of State Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud hoped that the State Mufti Department and State Islamic Council would be able to attract scholars or well-known personalities who are knowledgeable in the economic, technology and science fields to share their ideas and experience.

Speaking at a state-level fatwa seminar yesterday, he said these groups of people should also be invited to give talks so people would have a better understanding of Islam. Taib also launched the upgrading of the State Mufti Office to a department.
