MIRI: The Save Sarawak Rivers Network, an environmental watchdog group that is opposing the construction of mega-dams in Sarawak, have blasted two longhouse chiefs and a handful of villagers who are asking for the construction of the RM4 billion Baram Dam in northern Sarawak to proceed.
Network’s chairman Peter Kallang said these two longhouse chiefs and the few villagers do not represent the majority of the population of Baram and thus they have no right to make decision on behalf of the majority of the people who are opposed to the dam project.
