THE term hydrocephalus is derived from two Greek words — “hydro” meaning water and “cephalus” meaning head — which literally means “watery head”.
It is a condition characterised by excessive accumulation of fluid which is actually referring to the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain causing increased pressure towards the normal brain.
