AMIDST the clamour of charity food sellers selling their offerings at the Silver Jubilee Home for Aged biennial food fair, one stall drew the crowd without much effort.

Visitors to the fair at the home in Sungai Dua, Penang, could not resist making their way to the 1881 Chong Tian Cultural Hotel stall because from a distance, it seemed as if Buddhist bodhisattvas had arrived.
