Efforts must be taken to record down the local languages so that the young can learn them

MIRI: The state government wants to see Sarawakians preserving their local ethnic languages in the pure form so that these unique languages would not be lost or be distorted.

Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang yesterday said that it was important that the mother tongue of local Sarawakian ethnic groups be maintained in their original form because these languages cannot be found anywhere else in the country or in the world.
