FIVE wet markets in Kuala Lumpur will benefit from new wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) installed as part of the River of Life programme, which aims to clean a 110km stretch of the Klang and Gombak rivers.

Four WWTPs are already operating at the Selayang, Jalan Kelang Lama, Air Panas and Sentul markets, while the one in Pasar Borong Kuala Lumpur is expected to be completed by early 2015.
