SIXTEEN SuriaFM listeners and three of the station’s DJs attended their first Ragam Melaram Grooming workshop, which was recently co-organised by SuriaFM and Malay language lifestyle magazine, Nona.
Ragam Melaram is a Monday segment on SuriaFM’s Ceria Pagi with Adibah Noor and Halim Othman, where they share their latest fashion tips with listeners.
The day-long course offered participants make-up lessons, which was conducted by Mary Kay sales director Shahanaz Zainuddin and grooming tips conducted by Nona editor Kiffy Razak, who also offered the latest fashion tips.
“The audience was very attentive. I love giving workshops like this because I love sharing knowledge,” said Shahanaz.
The mother of four advised that anyone can stay well-groomed as long as they practice good time management.
“There was a time when I didn’t have a maid and had to handle all the chores at home. But then, I realised I am important too,” she said.
SuriaFM’s DJ Seri (Seri Nazira Mohd Nordin) said she found the workshop helpful. “I only wear basic make-up so I learned a lot today.”
Indah Suzanah Ahzin, who works in the finance industry and doesn’t wear make-up, said she found it useful to know the basics like applying foundation and loose powder.
SuriaFM’s DJ Lin (Roslinda Abdul Majid) said it was good to know how to apply make-up properly.
“As radio presenters, we have our in-house make-up artists. When I go out for private events, I am always rushing and don’t know how to apply make-up properly. This workshop really helped me to learn the basics,” she said.
Not only did the workshop see female participants, but also had male participants showing up to learn about basic skincare techniques.
Mohd Nur Faiz Abdul Rahim, 26, an insurance life planner, brought his mother, Sharifah Mohamad, along from Penang to attend the workshop.
“We are big fans of SuriaFM. I didn’t know that Mary Kay had skincare products so this was very helpful,” said Nur Faiz.
