Call for fair tourism promotion

Still much to be explored: Miri self-made business tycoon Datuk Lau Siu Wai believes Sarawak has barely tapped the potential in tourism and education.

MIRI: Miri’s pioneering business tycoon Datuk Lau Siu Wai has called on the federal tourism authorities to “be fair” and give the same amount of focus and attention to northern Sarawak in overseas promotion as is being given to Sabah.

Lau, who owns the Meritz Hotel in Miri and also the chairman of the Miri Housing Group, said that he had been informed by local tour operators that northern Sarawak was getting too little exposure in terms of tourism promotion in the international market.
