A STATE executive councillor has told the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) to “pull up its socks” to make sure that any demolition of buildings with historical and heritage values is done only after approval is obtained.

State Local Government, Traffic Management and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow said he was not happy about ongoing demolitions and felt that the council was “not on top of things”.
