Stop instigating villagers against 'important' Bengoh dam, Tengah tells Opposition

KUCHING: The Opposition has been asked to not instigate villagers who must resettle in order for the Bengoh dam to begin impoundment, says Public Utilities Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

“I feel sad the Bengoh dam (project implementation) is late. This is a project that is so important. If we can’t use Bengoh, then Kuching, and the greater Kuching area, in the years to come will be facing problems,” Tengah told a press conference here yesterday, after a meeting on emergency water relief due to the dry spell.
