KUCHING: The Kuching Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organising a series of community events, starting with
the photography and colouring contests in collaboration with Padawan Municipal Council.
In a press release, the chamber said the children’s colouring contest will be held on Sept 7 at SJK Chung Chua Sungai Tapang. The results of the Padawan Area Community Scenic Photography Competition will also be announced on that day.
Both events are being organised by the chamber’s Youth Entrepreneur Committee.
The photography competition is opened to the public. Prizes begin at RM100 for consolation with RM1,600 for the top prize, the press release said.
The organiser said entry forms could either be taken from the Kampung Annah Rais/Bunuk and Annah Rais hotsprings areas, or taken during the River Rafting Safari today at Padawan Mile-10.
Entries must include a form, a printed photo and an electronic copy submitted on CD. The organiser said the electronic copy of the photograph must not be less than 4Mb.
Every participant of the photo contest will receive a certificate upon submission.
The closing date of the photography contest submission is Sept 2.
The colouring contest will begin at 8am at the primary school. It is opened to children between five
and 12 years old, divided into three categories according to age.
Prizes range from RM20 to RM100.
The chamber’s headquarters is at Level 8, Wisma Chinese Chambers, Jalan Bukit Mata.
