Motorcyclists in Sungai Buloh received new helmets in exchange for their old ones in time for their ‘balik kampung’ trips.
A total of 350 helmets was given out by Shah Alam mayor Datuk Mohd Jaafar Mohd Atan (in blue shirt) during the event in Paya Jaras, Seksyen U20, Sungai Buloh.
The initiative by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) was held in conjunction with the yearly ‘Kempen Selamat Balik Kampung’.
Mohd Jaafar said the programme has been held yearly since 2010 to advocate the importance of safety on the road especially during the Hari Raya period. The Sirim- approved helmets were donated by the company. Eighty children’s helmets were also distributed.
