Convene emergency meeting to tackle El Nino, urges Batu Lintang rep

KUCHING: Concerted and sustainable efforts, not knee-jerk responses, must be made to address the impact of the El Nino phenomenon in the state.

Making this call, Sarawak PKR vice-chairman See Chee How said Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu, who chairs the State Disaster Relief Committee, should immediately convene an emergency meeting of all relevant authorities to look into the problems of poor air quality, the lengthy dry spell and the systematic and sustainable supply of clean water to all drought-hit areas.
